When you hear the term 'screaming frog' do you automatically think of Kermit yelling at his fellow muppets?  Or do you think of the tool you use to rock your site's SEO? Does the word 'organic' mean something different than the expensive fruit that is basically the same as regular fruit in the grocery store? If this describes you, keep on reading.


We are making a call out to the search geeks of the world to come join our motley crew.  Deseret Digital Media is developing a new SEO team and we are looking for qualified folks that love trying to figure out the enigma we call Google. The SEO Manager is a brand new role at Deseret Digital Media (DDM). Operating in the Marketing department, the SEO Manager will work on various DDMs brands including: KSL.com, KSL Classifieds, KSL Cars, KSL Jobs, KSL Homes, Utah.com and theMemories.com. We are a dynamic team only a stone's throw away from the development, creative and product teams. Although we don't encourage throwing rocks in the office, there is a lot of glass, which lets in natural sunlight to keep our employees rich with vitamin D exposure.


Here's what we are gonna have you do:


  • Set up and Manage SEO KPIs for your channel. We gather the data first then make SEO decisions based on your findings.

  • Assist in prioritizing SEO tasks by the BEST things we can do. There are many possible SEO tasks and we focus on the ones that maintain best practices and move the needle.

  • Build an outreach strategy geared towards link building.

  • Communicate successes and failures to managers and directors. We believe in "failing fast", learn from the failures and use them on your road to SEO success.

  • Disseminate your SEO knowledge to the organization and set-up your coworkers for success. You will have to be interdependent on your peers to accomplish your goals.

  • Manage common SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs.

  • Recommend best practices for app development as it relates to SEO

  • Regular SEO audits and tracking of improvements and domain health over time.

  • Research and recommend topics DDM can publish in it's various domains. You will work closely with the paid search manager to identify new content opportunities.


Here's what you should have already done:


  • 4-5 years of experience in SEO roles. Bonus if you also understand paid search.

  • Proficient in technical SEO best practices for ecommerce and lead-generation websites.

  • Ability to present SEO data in easy to understand and unbiased format.

  • Manage common SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs.

  • Demonstrated ability to use SEO crawlers and backlink analysis tools.
