Organize (awr-guh-nahyz) v. to form as or into a whole consisting of interdependent or coordinated parts, especially for united action. We need our interdependent parts formed into a whole.  We also need united action. It's not like we're a bunch of disorganized nincompoops, but...hopefully you get it. We need a superstar Operations Coordinator who can get a lot of stuff done with one hand, while using the other to kick some serious trash at Ping-Pong and pool.

Utah.com is the official site for the people of Utah and the leader for hands-on, authentic knowledge of all things Beehive State. Originally launched in the dial-up days of the mid-1990s, Utah.com helps travelers discover, plan and book epic vacations and adventures in Utah by providing fresh perspective and local insight. In order to really do this, we need an Operations Coordinator that is crazy organized, has an eye (or two) for good design, and can drop a serious hammer when deadlines are nigh.

The Operations Coordinator will be passionate about gathering and creating compelling and consumable content that represents tourism businesses throughout Utah. We like to build really purdy and useful websites, so having a good eye for design and user experience is a must. You also need to have the skills to work well with external clients and internal teams...both of whom might, on occasion, act just a touch prickly. All of this mingled with a variety of administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain all aspects of Utah.com advertising content, including writing, editing and proofreading.
  • Interface with sales, clients, product and creative teams to ensure client needs are fulfilled in a timely manner.  Just be a team player, not "that guy/gal".
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, product and development teams to maintain site standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends, digital advertising and marketing techniques that can be applied to help our clients shine.
  • Liaise with accounting to ensure clients get billed on time, we collect money on time, etc.
  • Manage online retail store (fulfilling orders for maps, tees, hats, etc.)
  • Answer the phone, have conversations with people, help them out, etc.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience managing content and production for high-traffic websites (the blog about your ferret doesn't necessarily count)
  • Writing, communication and organizational skills (bow staff skills are also a plus)
  • Some knowledge of content management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (without getting all bent out of shape)
  • Ability to speak with clients by phone to discuss billing issues, as well as gather assets and information about the unique aspects of their businesses
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communication, or a related field
